Half-Time Report: Kwadwo Asamoah gives Juventus lead

A late goal from Kwadwo Asamoah gives Juventus a 1-0 lead over Fiorentina at half time in today's Serie A clash.

Juventus are 1-0 up against Fiorentina at half time in their Serie A encounter in Turin.

Fiorentina kept the ball well in the opening stages, but the home side were quick to begin pushing forward in search of an early goal.

The Bianconeri had the first real opening on 15 minutes when Arturo Vidal set up Stephan Lichtsteiner, but the full-back could only hit his left-footed strike wide of the post.

A minute later, Carlos Tevez had an effort from the edge of the area, but his shot went well over the bar.

Claudio Marchisio found Tevez again on 24 minutes with a fine pass, but the Argentine forward could only put the ball wide after connecting with the cross.

Juve continued to press the away side and came close again through Kwadwo Asamoah, who latched onto a pass and saw his powerful strike saved by goalkeeper Neto.

Juan Vargas had a strike on goal from distance for Fiorentina, but the defence was alert and deflected the ball off target.

Juve took the lead on 43 minutes when Asamoah cut inside and burst into the box before firing a shot that looped over the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
