Antonio Conte: 'I will never walk away from Italy job'

Italy manager Antonio Conte dismisses rumours that he wants to leave the job by saying it is an "honour".

Italy head coach Antonio Conte has insisted that he will never walk away from the Italy job, after reports suggested he was ready to resign.

The former Juventus coach is rumoured to be upset with several Serie A teams, as he had to cancel his mid-season training camp due to some clubs allegedly refusing to let players attend.

However, Conte has rubbished the reports and reveals that he feel privileged to manage his national side.

"I never floated the idea of leaving the national team and I never will," the 45-year-old said, according to Goal.com.

"As a child, everyone dreams of playing in Serie A and then the national team - I managed that. And now I'm coaching the national team. I'm proud of that.

"It's a great honour to be Italy coach. Now the dream is to win with the national team."

Conte is still yet to lose as the head coach of Italy, winning five and drawing once in his first six games in charge.
