Italy forward Alessandro Diamanti has insisted that 'justice was done' after they beat England in last eight of Euro 2012.
After a goalless 120 minutes, the Azzurri claimed a penalty shootout success to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament. The Italians dominated the majority of the match and Diamanti believes that his side deserved to go through.
"I didn't expect it, but always believed and this was absolutely a deserved victory. The penalties did justice," Diamanti told Football Italia.
"We have to be ready for whenever the coach calls us, as we are all important.
"It was a great performance from the first to the last minute, a battle that we controlled from the start."
Italy now face tournament favourites Germany in the last four of the competition on Thursday.
