Mick McCarthy: 'I'm not ruling myself out'

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy says that he could say yes or no to an approach from the Republic of Ireland, but won't rule himself in or out.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has declared that he will not rule himself in or out for the Republic of Ireland job.

McCarthy, who has already had one spell in charge of his country, has led the Tractor Boys to 12th in the Championship.

However, speaking after their 1-0 defeat to Burnley on Saturday, McCarthy admitted that he might say yes or no to an approach.

"I'm not ruling myself in or out," he said to Sky Sports News.

"It might be that I'd just like to be asked so I can say yes. It might be that I'd just like to be asked so I can say no. I haven't been asked.

"I'm not asking for it, I'm not courting it, I'm not trying to do anything with it."

Ipswich's next match is away to Bolton Wanderers.
