Inter Milan close on Leandro Damiao

Tottenham's hopes of signing Internacional striker Leandro Damiao have been hit with a major blow after reports suggested Inter Milan are closing on a move.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is desperate to secure a striker in January to supplement his forward line.

He has seemingly missed out on his prime target, however, with Inter officials understood to be discussing personal terms with a view to a January move.

Damiao, who has scored 52 goals in 86 appearances for the Brazilian club, is expected to cost the Italians in the region of £15m.
