Report: Liverpool interested in unhappy Mateo Kovacic

Liverpool have reportedly placed Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic high on a list of possible transfer targets.

The 19-year-old has been used sparingly by Inter head coach Walter Mazzarri in recent weeks, and Liverpool could be prepared to take advantage of the situation by offering £8m for his services, according to The Metro.

"Everybody is confused as to why Mateo is not playing," Kovacic's agent Nikky Vuksan told members of the Italian media.

"Is there a row with Mazzarri? I can't say a lot, but he is not happy."

Kovacic joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2013.
