Inter Milan 'open talks with Chelsea over Emerson Palmieri'

Inter Milan have reportedly opened discussions with Chelsea over a proposed deal for Emerson Palmieri.

The 25-year-old has made 19 appearances for the Blues during the 2019-20 campaign but is currently down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and continues to be linked with a summer exit.

Rumours of interest from Inter have gathered pace in recent weeks, and according to Sky Sports News, the Italian giants are currently in talks with Chelsea over a proposed deal.

Emerson, who has a contract with Frank Lampard's side until the summer of 2022, has featured on 14 occasions in the Premier League during the current season.

The Blues are expected to bring a new left-back to the club ahead of next term, though, and fellow defender Marcos Alonso has also been linked with a move away ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell is thought to be Chelsea's leading defensive target.
