Hull City goalkeeper Callum Burton loaned to Chesterfield

Hull City confirm that 22-year-old goalkeeper Callum Burton has joined National League side Chesterfield on loan until January 16.

Hull City have announced that goalkeeper Callum Burton will be on loan at National League side Chesterfield until January.

The 22-year-old joined the Tigers from Shrewsbury Town just over 12 months ago and was a regular for the Under-23s side last season.

Chesterfield, meanwhile, suffered back-to-back relegations in their last two campaigns, dropping from League One into the top tier of non-league football.

"With David Marshall and George Long currently ahead of him in the senior pecking order, a loan move gives him the chance to play regular first team football," Hull confirmed in a statement.

Burton could be in line for his Spireites debut in Saturday's home game against Barnet.
