Hull City manager Steve Bruce is confident that he can guide the club to safety this season.
City lost 2-0 at Southampton on Saturday for what was their third successive Premier League defeat as Bruce's side sit one place and two points above the relegation zone.
"The supporters realise we are in a bit of a scrap. We are Hull City and have only been in this top league for four years," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"No-one was naive enough to think it was going to be easy. From what I grasp of the city, the fans have been right behind me.
"Of course, when results go against you, there are going to be a few people who are shouting for the manager. But our fans came down in droves and everyone is up for the challenge. And I am sure we can do it."
Along with home clashes against Liverpool and Arsenal on the horizon, the Tigers also visit Tottenham Hotspur on the penultimate gameweek, before hosting Manchester United on the last day.
