James Chester: 'Hull City are ready for relegation battle'

Chester: 'Hull are ready for fight'

James Chester has insisted that the confidence in Hull City's squad has not changed as they look to secure their Premier League place for another season.

A run of six matches without a win has left Hull above the bottom three only on goal difference, but Chester has urged the club's supporters to stick with the players over the next few weeks.

"Of course it is so disheartening when we are not winning games, but we are all determined to win the fight to stay up," the 26-year-old defender told The Mirror.

"None of us want to be in the Championship next season. I've been there, and I certainly don't want to go back. That's why none of us are giving up yet.

"The players are all very aware of the pain the fans are feeling, and we share their pain. But we need them to stick with us and keep on believing in us."

Hull return to action with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
