Allan McGregor keen to prove fitness

Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor hopes to be able to prove his fitness in the team's final game of the Premier League season.

Allan McGregor has said that he is keen to prove his fitness in Hull City's final game of the Premier League season.

The goalkeeper has not played since March, having sustained a kidney injury during the team's defeat to West Ham United, but wants to play against Everton this weekend to give himself a chance of featuring in the FA Cup final.

The Scot told the club's website: "Obviously it's up to the manager whether or not I play, but I hope to be up for selection. I've been doing a lot of work with [goalkeeping coach Gary Walsh] and I feel good.

"At any time when I'm injured, I always give my all to get back as quickly as possible. The games that are coming up don't make any difference. I've never really set myself a target in terms of coming back. I've just been taking it a day at a time and seeing how it feels. So far, it hasn't felt too bad.

"It's been a really good season and I think we've done well. Obviously there are areas that we can improve on, but every team will be saying that. We've done well for our first season back in the Premier League and we need to build on that."

The Tigers will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley next weekend.
