Shaun Maloney sidelined for up to three weeks

Steve Bruce reveals that Shaun Maloney will miss at least the next two weeks of action due to a hamstring injury sustained on international duty with Scotland.

New Hull City recruit Shaun Maloney has been ruled out of action for between two and three weeks.

The 32-year-old picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with Scotland earlier this week.

Maloney, who joined the Tigers from Chicago Fire on a two-year deal this summer, was handed his debut in the 2-0 win over Preston North End last time out.

Manager Steve Bruce confirmed the news in his weekly press conference, while also revealing that Adama Diomande will miss this weekend's trip to early pacesetters Brighton & Hove Albion.

There is some good news for Hull supporters, however, as Chuba Akpom has been declared fit.
