Brian Lenihan called up to Republic of Ireland squad

Uncapped Hull City defender Brian Lenihan has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Germany.

The 20-year-old full-back is due to meet up with the national team on Tuesday evening.

Lenihan has been brought in as cover for Seamus Coleman, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, James McCarthy and Shay Given have also been ruled out for Martin O'Neill's side.

Ireland host Gibraltar on Saturday before facing world champions Germany in Gelsenkirchen three days later.
