Diego Poyet: Chris Powell a "big factor" in Huddersfield Town move

Poyet: Powell a "big factor" in loan move

New Huddersfield Town midfielder Diego Poyet has revealed that Chris Powell's presence in West Yorkshire was a big reason for his loan move from West Ham United.

The 19-year-old linked up with the Terriers last week on a month-long deal to again work with Powell, who managed him while at former club Charlton Athletic.

Speaking of Powell and his assistant Alex Dyer, Poyet told Huddersfield's website: "They deserve everything they get. They work very hard on the training pitch and that shows in the results."

"They are a big factor in my loan. As soon as I heard Huddersfield was interested in me, I immediately thought about working with them again.

"This is a big move for me as I'm away from home, but I trust the manager and Alex as I know what they can give me."

Poyet, who is the son of Sunderland manager Gus Poyet, was eligible to make his debut in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Fulham, but didn't make it off the bench at Craven Cottage.
