Kevin Volland targets improvement

Kevin Volland believes that he can progress and improve as a player while at Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim striker Kevin Volland has admitted that he is only focused on improving as a player, despite talk that he could be in line for a place in Germany's World Cup squad.

International coach Joachim Low is reportedly tracking Volland's progress at Hoffenheim, and Volland does not feel that his progress would be any different if he were at a bigger club.

"I'm not putting myself under any pressure about it," the attacker told Bundesliga.com. "I just want to play well for the Under-21s and try to give my best for my club.

"I'm young and can still get better. There's still plenty of room for improvement and what happens in the future is purely down to me. Every player is responsible for himself.

"It's true, I did have offers, but I can progress in the best possible way in Hoffenheim. Our training centre is magnificent and it's where I, as a young player, can develop. On top of that, I like the way our coach Markus Gisdol wants football to be played. I can really identify with it."

Volland joined Hoffenheim last summer from 1860 Munich.
