Rob Smith: 'Hednesford aren't under any pressure'

Hednesford Town manager Rob Smith insists that his side are under no pressure to defeat Crawley Town in the FA Cup first round on Saturday.

Hednesford Town manager Rob Smith believes that their FA Cup first-round fixture with Crawley Town is one of the toughest ties that they could have received.

The Conference North leaders host the League One outfit at Keys Park on Saturday, and Smith has admitted that his squad are excited to play a club 60 places above them in the English league pyramid.

Smith told the Express & Star: "It's a glamorous game for us, against a League One club and full-time players, and it's a chance for our lads to show what they're capable of.

"In terms of opposition, it's probably the toughest tie that we could have had but there is no pressure on us.

"We can go out and play the way we play, and if things go well for us, we have a chance."

The Pitmen have defeated AFC Telford United, West Auckland Town and Stamford AFC to reach the first round for the first time since 1999.
