Avraam Papadopoulos to miss rest of Euro 2012

Greece defender Avraam Papadopoulos has been ruled out for the rest of Euro 2012 with a knee injury.

The 27-year-old was substituted during the first half of his team's 1-1 draw with Poland.

Subsequent scans have revealed that the centre-back has suffered a torn knee ligament, which is likely to keep him out of action for around seven months.

His namesake, Kyriakos Papadopoulos, replaced him during the opening game in Warsaw and is likely to deputise in his absence against the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
