Miroslav Klose hints at international retirement

Germany striker Miroslav Klose hints that he will retire from international football following the 2014 World Cup.

Germany striker Miroslav Klose has hinted that he will retire from international football following the 2014 World Cup next summer.

The 35-year-old, who currently plays for Lazio, is just one short of former Brazil striker Ronaldo's record of 15 goals in the World Cup finals.

"I assume [my retirement] is what will happen with regards to the national team," he told Kicker.

"The title with the team has top priority [over Ronaldo's record]. If I can win the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, that would be the greatest for me. Everything else would be secondary."

Klose has scored 67 goals in 128 games for Germany.
