Former Germany boss Berti Vogts says that many of the nation's squad "do not deserve to continue to play" for the world champions again.

Former Germany boss Berti Vogts has claimed that many of the nation's squad "do not deserve to continue to play" for the world champions following their exit in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup.

Wednesday's shock 2-0 defeat to South Korea saw Germany finish bottom of Group F on three points.

Die Mannschaft had previously not failed to progress past the group stage of a World Cup since 1938, and Vogts has said that a number of the current players are "not worthy" of representing the national team again.

"I assume that the German Football Association will part with many players as they do not deserve to continue to play for our national team," Vogts told Eurosport. "That was not worthy of a German team. They have shown no will, it was all too slow."

Vogts managed the German national team between 1990 and 1998, and led them to success at Euro '96.
