Draxler, Howedes unharmed in car accident

German World Cup hopefuls Julian Draxler and Benedikt Howedes have been involved in a car accident while filming a promotional advert with Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg.

The midfielder and defender were filming a shoot with Mercedes-Benz, which also involved DTM driver Pascal Wehrlein, when a car collided with two other people on a closed circuit near Germany's training camp in Italy's South Tyrol region.

Both people were taken to hospital, with one thought to be suffering from serious injuries, but Rosberg, Wehrlein, Draxler and Howedes were left unharmed, according to the Daily Mail.

The German squad will continue training in Northern Italy until June 1, before heading off for their World Cup campaign in Brazil.
