Team News: Mario Gotze leads Germany line against Ukraine in Euro 2016 Group C clash

Gotze to lead Germany line against Ukraine

Mario Gotze, scorer of Germany's World Cup-winning goal two years ago in Brazil, has been picked by Joachim Low to lead Die Elf's attack in their Euro 2016 opening game against Ukraine in Lille.

The world champions boast a strong starting XI this evening, with Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Benedikt Howedes, Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller all starting the World Cup final against Argentina two years ago.

Mykhaylo Fomenko, meanwhile, has picked a 4-2-3-1 formation for Ukraine with highly-rated 20-year-old Viktor Kovalenko forming the middle part of an attacking middle trio with Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko.

Germany: Neuer, Mustafi, Hector, Howedes, Khedira, Ozil, Draxler, Muller, Boateng, Kroos, Gotze

Ukraine: Pyatov, Fedetskiy, Khacheridi, Rakitskiy, Shevchuk, Sydorchuk, Stepanenko, Yarmolenko, Kovalenko, Konoplyanka, Zozulya
