Georgia lineup vs. Spain: Predicted XI for Euro 2024 last-16 contest

Euro 2024's surprise package Georgia continue their unlikely adventure on Sunday evening, as they tackle a tough last-16 clash with Spain.

A stunning win over Portugal puts the outsiders within touching distance of the quarter-finals at their first major tournament, so boss Willy Sagnol is unlikely to make many changes to a successful side.

On Wednesday, Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored the fastest goal of the finals so far, assisted by Metz striker Georges Mikautadze, who later aided his pursuit of the Golden Boot by bagging Georgia's second from the spot.

Leading their team's rapid counter-attacks, both will join forces in the final third once again, at the apex of Sagnol's favoured 5-3-2 formation.

After picking up his second booking in three matches, midfielder Anzor Mekvabishvili will be sidelined by suspension, so Giorgi Chakvetadze is set to continue his role in the Crusaders' engine room.

It has been suggested that Giorgi Gvelesiani may be dropped this weekend, allowing Solomon Kvirkvelia to return to the back five alongside Lasha Dvali and captain Guram Kashia.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has already saved 21 shots at these finals and may also find himself busy against Spain, to whom Georgia conceded 10 goals across two games in qualifying.
