Half-Time Report: Gabon 1-1 Switzerland

Switzerland and Gabon are stuck at 1-1 in the opening match of both sides' Olympic campaigns this afternoon.

Switzerland took the lead after just six minutes when Admir Mehmedi calmly converted a penalty for his side.

Gabon almost equalised after 23 minutes when Jerry Obiang hit the post with an effort, before Levy Madina squandered a good chance of his own as the West African side pushed for an equaliser.

The leveller came right on the stroke of half-time through Pierre Aubameyang, who coolly slotted the ball past Diego Benglio in the Switzerland goal to send the two sides in at 1-1.

Earlier today in this group, Mexico and South Korea could not be separated as they drew 0-0.
