Rene Meulensteen "surprised" by Fulham's struggles

Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen claims that he is "surprised" by his side's struggles this season.

Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen has claimed that he is "surprised" by his side's struggles this season.

The Cottagers are embroiled in a relegation fight and are currently bottom of the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Meulensteen said: "We're very much aware of the process we have here, we put the work in on the training pitch and when you see the quality day in and day out it leaves you surprised at where we find ourselves.

"We've had fantastic energy in some games, and just haven't been able to get our noses in front when we've had the better of things. I don't think we've always got what we deserved."

Meulensteen's side travel to Manchester United this afternoon.
