Martin Jol hails rising star Alex Kacaniklic

Fulham boss Martin Jol has praised Alex Kacaniklic after the midfielder made his debut in Saturday's 2-1 win over Norwich City.

Kacaniklic, 20, was brought on after 36 minutes for the injured Pavel Pogrebnyak and Jol was pleased with his performance.

Jol said: "I had to make a decision and put [Clint] Dempsey up front and give Alex his debut.

"I think he did well but it would have helped if he had scored the third one [when he hit the bar four minutes into the second half]."

Kacaniklic previously spent two months on loan at Watford before being recalled by Jol.
