Preview: France vs. Honduras

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Group E match between France and Honduras.

France and Honduras begin their respective World Cup campaigns by meeting each other in Group E on Sunday night.

Didier Deschamps will head into the match full of confidence after going unbeaten in their previous five games, with their most recent match ending in an 8-0 victory over Jamaica.

Despite being firm favourites to qualify from a group which also includes Switzerland and Ecuador, there is further pressure on France following their disastrous campaign in South Africa four years ago.

France were rocked by Franck Ribery's failure to be fit for the tournament, but Deschamps has no further injury concerns ahead of the campaign, meaning that Olivier Giroud and Karim Benzema could both start.

Honduras will be looking for their first World Cup victory in their second successive appearance, but they will take confidence from their goalless draw with England in Miami last weekend.

Head coach Luis Fernando Suarez could be tempted to name the same side against France, with Wilson Palacios, Maynor Figueroa and Roger Espinoza all expected to start.
