Bixente Lizarazu: 'France can turn it around'

Bixente Lizarazu believes that France have the quality to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the second leg of their World Cup playoff tie against Ukraine.

Goals from Roman Zozulya and Andriy Yarmolenko has left Les Bleus in danger of failing to qualify for the first time since 1994.

With the second leg in Paris on Tuesday, the former Bayern Munich full-back, who was part of the 1998 World Cup-winning team, offered hope to his countrymen.

"It's possible to win 2-0, play extra time and qualify on penalties," Lizarazu told L'Equipe. "We have the quality for it, but if Ukraine score a goal, it will all be over."

Ukraine's only appearance at a World Cup was in 2006.
