Mathieu Debuchy: 'Spain are the best national side in the world'

Debuchy: 'Spain are the best team'

France defender Mathieu Debuchy is hopeful that his side can defeat Spain next Tuesday but admits that it will not be easy to do so.

Les Bleus will take on the European and world champions in their third 2014 World Cup qualifier, having lost to Vicente del Bosque's side in the Euro 2012 quarter-finals in the summer.

"I do not know whether we need to try something new against Spain," he told France Football. "We'll let the coach (Didier Deschamps) decide.

"We will work this week to become dangerous [so that we can] bring something back from there.

"I have not watched Spain's latest games but I do not think they have changed a lot of players, and they have the same philosophy of playing we know about. We know this is a very good team playing very good football and they remain the best nation."

France have won both their Group I games.
