Sebastien Haller double downs Scotland Under-21s in Angers

Ricky Sbragia's Scotland Under-21 side lose 2-0 to their French counterparts to leave their Euro 2017 qualification hopes hanging by a thread.

Scotland Under-21s' hopes of reaching Euro 2017 suffered a blow tonight after losing 2-0 away to France Under-21s in Angers.

Things appeared to be going well for the visitors, who held their French counterparts to 0-0 half-time draw.

However, Sebastien Haller opened the scoring for the hosts on 69 minutes as Ricky Sbragia's side looked on course to extend their winless streak to four outings.

The Scots' route back into the contest was made more treacherous just five minutes later when Haller doubled the advantage to consolidate the three points.

Scotland remain fourth in Group 3, eight points behind leaders France and seven adrift of second-placed Iceland with five qualifiers to go.
