Preview: Fenerbahce vs. Marseille

Fenerbahce vs. Marseille

These two clubs will meet for the first time competitively during tomorrow night's Europa League group stages.

French side Marseille will head to Turkey with history in their favour. Hosts Fenerbache have struggled at home during European competitions of late, drawing four and losing one of their last five matches at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

Their record against French clubs is also not too favourable, winning three of 15 outings.

Former Liverpool frontman Dirk Kuyt is expected to start for the Yellow Canaries, who are also likely to give a start to Moussa Sow should he be passed fit. Raul Meireles may also feature following his recent switch from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Joey Barton could make his first outing of the season for visiting Marseille. The Queens Park Rangers loanee still has nine matches of his 12-game suspension to serve, but that does not cover European competitions.

Any outing that the midfielder makes is likely to come from the bench.
