Everton exercise their right to bring youngster Ross Barkley back from his loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday.

Ross Barkley has returned to parent club Everton following a loan stint in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.

The 18-year-old originally joined the Owls for a month in September, before extending the deal on a week-by-week basis.

However, after it was confirmed that Everton captain Phil Neville faced around two months on the sidelines as a result of a knee injury, manager David Moyes has decided that he requires Barkley as cover.

Barkley made 13 appearances for Wednesday, scoring four goals.
