Everton boss Roberto Martinez: 'We have to get back to form against Sunderland'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is adamant that his team have to get back into form in the Premier League following back-to-back defeats.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has called on his side to get back into form in the Premier League in their clash against Sunderland.

The Toffees have lost back-to-back matches in the top flight to Manchester United and Arsenal, but did defeat Norwich City during the week on penalties to advance to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

Martinez has insisted that his team have to take the momentum from their win over the Canaries into their match against Sam Allardyce's men.

"We respect immensely the opposition but we need to push ourselves and get back to enjoying our football," Martinez told the club's official website.

"We are looking at our own situation and we want the feeling that we enjoyed on Tuesday night to carry on into the league.

"It has been a demanding start to the season but we are looking forward to the next nine games and making sure we are as good as we can and try to replicate the good things that we have shown in these first 10 fixtures."

Everton face Sunderland at Goodison Park on Sunday.
