Darron Gibson nearing Everton return

Darron Gibson has given Everton an injury boost with news that he will return to first-team training this week.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been sidelined with a thigh injury since the start of September.

However, he played in a reserve-team match against Reading this weekend and he is expected to take part in training later this week.

Gibson joined Everton from Manchester United in January.
