Everton to save £10m from David Moyes's departure?

Everton will reportedly save £10m in wages from David Moyes's departure to Manchester United.

Everton will reportedly save £10m from David Moyes's departure to Manchester United.

The Blues manager will take over as United boss next season after Sir Alex Ferguson announced his decision to retire earlier this week.

According to the Daily Mail, the club will save as much as £10m in wages with the club offering a lower rate for any incoming manager at Goodison Park.

Moyes is one of the highest earners at the club and chairman Bill Kenwright will be looking to offer any potential manager around half of the £4m Moyes is paid every year, meaning that the club would save the figure over the next five years.

Kenwright has yet to formally identify who he wants as the next boss, but reports have claimed that Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez could take over.

The Toffees have also been linked with Swansea City's Michael Laudrup, Celtic boss Neil Lennon and Porto coach Vitor Pereira.
