Seamus Coleman: 'Everton deserve league position'

Everton defender Seamus Coleman believes that Everton deserve to be near the top of the Premier League table following their strong start to the campaign.

Seamus Coleman has insisted that Everton deserve to be near the top of the Premier League table following their strong start to the season.

The Toffees moved up to fourth place on Sunday thanks to a dramatic 2-1 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Despite admitting that there is still a long way to go before the end of the campaign, Coleman hopes that the team can stay in and around the European places in the coming months.

"Of course we want to be up there with the best teams and we deserve to be where we are because of our form," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"We're not pulling away from sides yet because all the top teams are winning but we're hanging in there and that's what counts."

Everton are in Premier League action again on Boxing Day when they entertain Sunderland at Goodison Park.
