FA's Alex Horne: 'Other countries welcome to use St George's Park'

St George's Park 'open' to nations

Football Association general secretary Alex Horne has revealed that rival nations will be able to use England's new centre of excellence.

St George's Park in Burton will be officially opened today by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to mark the start of a new era of English football.

"I think it's perfectly possible [for other nations to use it]," Horne told BBC Radio Five Live. "We have had Celtic here, Craig Levein (Scotland manager) has been down to have a look at it and we are open to everybody, first and foremost for England but we expect lots of travelling teams here."

The England senior team will be training for the first time at St George's Park today ahead of their 2014 World Cup qualifier against San Marino on Friday.
