Roy Hodgson relishing Scotland trip

Roy Hodgson relishing Scotland trip

Roy Hodgson has admitted that he is looking forward to seeing how his England charges acquit themselves in a hostile setting ahead of Tuesday's friendly with Scotland.

Hodgson's side beat Slovenia 3-1 on Saturday to maintain their 100% start to Euro 2016 qualifying.

However, the visit to Glasgow tomorrow - the Three Lions' first in 15 years - is expected to throw up a sterner test, and the 67-year-old is relishing the chance to see how his troops stand up to the task.

"It will be a test," Hodgson is quoted as saying by The Guardian.

"The Scottish fans are exceptional, especially at Celtic Park where they are very good at supporting their team.

"That is all to the good. That is what we need. But a game like that in Scotland will probably tell me a little bit more about this team."

Gordon Strachan's Scotland, meanwhile, go into the clash on the back of a 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland on Friday.
