Glenn Hoddle has admitted that he would be open to the England job if Harry Redknapp can not be appointed in time.
The 54-year-old had a stint as Three Lions boss until he was sacked for making controversial comments in a newspaper interview in 1999.
"There are not many people who have experience of taking a team to a tournament," Hoddle said. "It would be nice, it would be lovely to do that again, it really would.
"My win percentages for England are there, you can't take those away.
"I took us to a World Cup and, at 54, I'm still young enough. There are not many English people that have experienced that job - and I have."
Stuart Pearce was appointed interim England boss last month following the resignation of Fabio Capello.
