Steven Gerrard: 'England won't hold back against Honduras'

Steven Gerrard insists that the England players will 'not hold back' when they face Honduras.

England captain Steven Gerrard has insisted that he and his teammates will 'not hold back' when they face Honduras in Miami tonight.

The Three Lions play the South Americans in what is their final warm-up match ahead of the World Cup.

England were dealt a blow on Wednesday when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a knee injury during the side's 2-2 draw with Ecuador.

Despite Oxlade-Chamberlain's involvement at the World Cup hanging in the balance, Gerrard claims that the team will not be worried about injuries when they take on the Hondurans this evening.

"We still have a while to go, but hopefully we will come through this game with a good performance, a win and no more injuries," he told reporters.

"This is the time for no stupid tackles in training, but in the game there will be no holding back. That will be the case against Honduras as we want confidence going into the match against Italy."

England start their World Cup campaign on June 14 when they meet Italy in Manaus.
