Beckham 'would consider' England manager's job

Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham has suggested that he would consider taking the England manager's job if it was offered to him.

The 44-year-old, who currently owns stakes in both Salford City and Inter Miami, was a regular captain for the Three Lions during a 13-year senior international career that saw him score 17 goals in 115 appearances.

Speaking to GQ Magazine, the former LA Galaxy star said: "If someone turned around to me and said, 'If the England job came up, would you take it?', I mean of course I would think about it, because I'm a passionate Englishman and I'm passionate about our national side, but would I be any good at it? Who knows?

"It's a dream job, but Gareth is doing the most incredible job for us right now. He's brought energy and excitement back into the game and the fans – myself included – are enjoying that."

England are currently preparing for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers with Bulgaria and Kosovo.
