Theo Walcott: "I'd do anything for this team"

Walcott content with substitute role

Theo Walcott has claimed that he is happy to carry on coming off the bench for England at Euro 2012.

The Arsenal winger hasn't started a game during the tournament but has impressed when called upon by Roy Hodgson later on in games, and the 23-year-old insists that the team comes first.

Walcott said: "I had that little injury setback. I kept on playing and training and pulled it in the end so I thought, during training, I'd have to sit it out for a while.

"But I'm ready to go. I'd do anything for this team - from the start or the bench.

"It's nice to be part of it and there's still a lot more to come."

Walcott may start against Italy in Sunday's quarter-final if Ashley Young fails to overcome a shin injury.
