Rooney: 'Italy not keen on England'

Wayne Rooney believes that Euro 2012 quarter-final opponents Italy won't fancy playing against England.

The Manchester United forward headed the only goal of the game as the Three Lions beat co-hosts Ukraine on Tuesday to advance to the knockout stages.

England's reward for finishing top of Group D is a last-eight clash with Group C runners-up Italy, and Rooney thinks that Italy won't be too keen on facing Roy Hodgson's side.

"I said before it doesn't matter [who the quarter-final opponents are]. The main thing was to get through the group and to finish top," said Rooney.

"We know our qualities and what we're capable of. We've worked hard and done a lot of tactical play in training.

"We're difficult to beat and I don't think any team will fancy playing us."

England face Italy in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
