No goals for Elche, Athletic Bilbao

Elche and Althletic Bilbao have shared the points following a goalless draw in La Liga this evening.

The home side looked dangerous early on when Garry Rodrigues saw his effort blocked just three minutes into the match, while Coro forced a save with a long-range strike.

The visitors' first chance fell to Ander, who tried to curl the ball in from a tight angle, but was denied by Manuel Yague.

Oscar de Marcos and Iker Muaniain both had further opportunities for Bilbao, but neither side was able to take the lead before the half-time whistle.

After a quiet spell with few real chances for either side, Domingo Cisma tried to head in for a winner inside the final 10 minutes, but Gorka Iraizoz in the away goal made the save.

The home side did not give up, as Sergio Pelegrin tried to force a winner in stoppage time, but his attempt to tap in from a corner went wide.
