James O'Connor returns to Derby County

James O'Connor has returned to Derby County following a trial period with Bristol City.

The 28-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current deal, has been made available on a free transfer this summer.

He linked up with the League One side last week, but it is unclear whether he has done enough to earn a permanent contract with Sean O'Driscoll's side.

A number of Football League clubs are also believed to be monitoring proceedings.
