Derby County striker Johnny Russell has been ruled out for up to six weeks due to a broken left fibula.
The summer signing suffered the injury in the second half of Saturday's 3-1 victory over Leeds United in the Championship.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Russell underwent a series of scans late on Monday, which confirmed that he had suffered a fracture similar to the one he sustained whilst playing for Dundee United last season.
"He is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks, however during that spell Steve McClaren's side have just four Sky Bet Championship matches to play owing to the October and November international breaks."
Russell, who has scored five goals in 12 appearances for the Rams, is set to miss games against Watford, Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday.
