Derby County boss Steve McClaren wants strong performance against Chelsea

Steve McClaren says that he wants his Derby County side to get back to their best form when they face Chelsea in the League Cup quarter-finals.

Derby County head coach Steve McClaren has said that he wants his side to rediscover their best form when they face Chelsea in the League Cup quarter-finals.

The Rams welcome the Premier League leaders to the iPro Stadium this evening, four days after losing 2-0 at Middlesbrough in the Championship.

McClaren hopes that Derby will put in a disciplined performance against Jose Mourinho's men.

"It's a great game for us to just see our players pitting themselves against the best in the Premier League and one of the best teams in Europe," McClaren told Derby's official website.

"It's all about performance. If you get that, anything can happen in football and you can with any football match.

"We have to be at our very best just to stay and live a Chelsea side that are doing very well."

Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners when the sides met in the third round of the FA Cup last season.
