Lucas Perez wants to retire at Deportivo La Coruna

Deportivo La Coruna attacker Lucas Perez says that given the chance, he would be prepared to spend the remainder of his career with his current club.

Spanish attacker Lucas Perez has revealed that he wants to retire at Deportivo La Coruna, despite speculation that a number of clubs are interested in his services.

The 27-year-old played a key role in Depor's La Liga survival last season after joining on a season-long loan from PAOK.

That move was made permanent in the summer and Perez has already struck four league goals in seven games for the Spanish side this term.

There are said to be a number of suitors for the versatile forward, but Perez has said that given the chance, he would retire at his hometown club.

"Recognition from your hometown is also beautiful. Seeing people happy with my work, despite barely knowing me, makes me proud and gives me strength to continue," Perez told AS.

"If I was to leave my home, it would have to be a very good offer for Depor, not just me. I'm not going to say anything else, other than it's for the club to decide because we all know their economic situation. I want to stay here and I'll be happy if I don't need to leave. If possible, I want to finish [my career] here."

Perez has also played for Rayo Vallecano in Spain's top flight.
