Lars Jacobsen: 'Unknown Denmark side can beat England'

Former Everton defender Lars Jacobsen says that Denmark's 'unknown' players can shock England in their friendly on Wednesday.

Lars Jacobsen believes that the fact some of Denmark's players may be unknown to England is a danger for Roy Hodgson's side.

The Dane, who used to play for Everton, says that apart from Daniel Agger and Nicklas Bendtner, the Three Lions will be unfamiliar with Denmark's squad.

Consequently, he feels that this could be an advantage for Morten Olsen's men when the two nations meet in a friendly on Wednesday.

"If you ask most of the England players they will probably only know Agger and Bendtner. That might be an advantage for us. I always felt it's actually nicer to play against a team where you know your opponents very well, than not to," Jacobsen is quoted as saying by The Express.

"I think we all know most of the England players very well. I don't think they know us very well. I know the crowd if they don't perform they will come after them for sure.

"I think they're more focused on their own players, I don't think they speculate too much about us."

Jacobsen, who is now with Copenhagen, also played for Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United during his time in England.
