Czech Republic Under-21s thrash Serbian counterparts

Czech Republic U21s put four past Serbia

Czech Republic Under-21s have stormed to a 4-0 win against Serbia Under-21s in their Euro 2015 Group A clash at the Generali Arena in Prague.

The tournament hosts opened the scoring in the eighth minute when a well-worked move culminated in Matej Hybs squaring the ball for Jan Kliment, who smashed a direct shot into the roof of the net.

Just 11 minutes later, Jakub Dovalil's charges doubled their lead as Jiri Skalak's effort was parried into the path of the Vysocina Jihlava midfielder, who duly poked home for his second goal of the match.

The last five minutes of the first half proved lively as Milos Jojic registered Serbia's first effort on goal before the Czechs countered through Tomas Kalas and Kliment.

Just before the break, the hosts appealed for a penalty when Pavel Kaderabek appeared to have been brought down in the box by a Nemanja Petrovic challenge, but the referee played on.

It would matter little for the Czech Republic because they grabbed a third goal just before the hour through Kliment, who secured his hat-trick by rounding the keeper before coolly slotting into an open goal.

A shellshocked Serbia had to pick the ball out of the net for a fourth time on 60 minutes through Martin Frydek, whose intention to volley the ball goalwards was miscued but still managed to bobble into the net.

From that point on, the game was all but over as Serbia engaged in damage limitation and the tournament hosts could ultimately celebrate a win that would put them in good stead for qualification from the group.
