Tony Pulis: 'Crystal Palace transfer activity already underway'

Tony Pulis says that back-to-back wins for Crystal Palace this week will help them sign new players in January.

Tony Pulis has revealed that he is already working on potential player deals for Crystal Palace in January but admits that back-to-back wins over West Ham United and Cardiff City will strengthen their stance in the transfer window.

Pulis lost his first game in charge of the Eagles in a 1-0 defeat at Norwich City on Saturday, leaving his side bottom of the Premier League and six points from safety.

Palace host West Ham and Cardiff in the space of five days, with both opponents also struggling towards the bottom of the table.

"A victory would help us enormously, and six points could set us up before the transfer window opens, which will give me an opportunity to do things," Pulis told the media. "I have already been on the telephone trying to see who might be available by the end of this month. So right now our home form is vital.

"If we were to win both matches this week, it would help create some breathing space. I haven't set us a points target, but I am confident we can pull it off. By January I will have been in charge for a month and will have a greater idea of what we need.

"I know it will take me a couple of weeks to get my feet under the table but two wins would really help. And I cannot wait to see how the fans react to what we are doing."

Palace take on West Ham at Selhurst Park this evening.
